Ten Members of Parliament, led by Samuel Nartey George and Rev. John Ntim Fordjour, are set to reintroduce the Human Sexual Rights and Family Values Bill, 2025 — widely known as the anti-LGBTQ bill — as the House reconvenes today, October 21, 2025.
The bill was first laid before Parliament in 2021 and passed in February 2025, but it failed to receive presidential assent before the dissolution of the 8th Parliament, causing it to lapse.
The MPs resubmitted the bill earlier this year, seeking to restart the legislative process. If officially introduced today, it will undergo its First Reading, marking the beginning of the bill’s parliamentary journey once again.
Rightify Ghana will continue to monitor proceedings in Parliament and provide updates.
